Joseph I. Stevens, born June 6, 1947 and passed away May 9, 2011 at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
Served in the U. S. Army two tours in Vietnam, 556 Signal Company in Dalat Vietnam.
Joe was a Lifetime member of VFW Post 1083 of Bellefontaine.
Preceded in death by mother Ruth, father Ed, grandma Rose, great- grandson Braxtyn, 11 brothers and sisters.
Survived by wife and buddy of 41 years, Sheila; daughters, Crystal Horvath, Shelli and husband Brett Summers; son, Brandon and wife Jill; five grandchildren, Richie, Kristyn, Matt, Sam and Thatcher; sister, Linda and husband Norm); brother, Mike and wife Darlene; brothers-in-law, Ernie, Woody, Steve, Rocky and Marty;
several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; special girlfriend, Alice.
Joe is also survived by his special Band Of Brothers, Bruce Hibbitts, Mark Costello, Claude "C.J." Chabre, Bernie Pettigrew, Jim Fears, Glen Stancil, Richard Slocum, David Hibbitts, David Hyatt, Pat McCarty and Steve Stankiewicz.
Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the O. R. WOODYARD CHAPEL, 1346 South High Street, Columbus, OH., where the funeral service will be Saturday 12 Noon. Reverend James Taylor officiating.
